WHAT DO I WEAR?

If having a bum lift treatment, it is ideal for women to wear a g-string rather than a full knicker, however disposable g-strings are supplied if you forget. Men are required to wear boxers or underwear. All clients must remove all jewellery and exterior metal/body piercings.

DOES IT HURT? HOW COLD DOES IT GET?

No, Crytherapy is not a painful treatment at all, its actually quite relaxing. It is not as shockingly cold as you might imagine. Though we use liquid nitrogen vapours of up to -160'C, because its quite a dry cold it doesn't feel that cold at all. A wet cold would feel much colder. If you have ever had a spray tan, this would likely be more of a shock as its wet than our cryotherapy treatment. We cover you well up with towels and a blanket and only the treated area is exposed to the liquid nitrogen vapours, this area over your session can become quite cold, though because its a gradual cooling and more relaxing unlike the likes of Cryo Spas which is a liquid bath you get in to.

WHO SHOULDN’T DO CRYOTHERAPY?

The following conditions are contraindications to Whole Body Cryotherapy: Pregnancy, severe Hypertension (BP> 180/100), acute or recent myocardial infarction, unstable angina pectoris, arrhythmia, symptomatic cardiovascular disease, cardiac pacemaker, peripheral arterial occlusive disease, venous thrombosis, acute or recent cerebrovascular accident, uncontrolled seizures, severe Raynaud’s Syndrome, fever, tumor disease, symptomatic lung disorders, bleeding disorders, severe anemia, infection, cold-allergy, acute kidney and urinary tract diseases. Anyone under 18 must have parental consent and have a parent present during treatment.

IS NITROGEN GAS DANGEROUS?

No, nitrogen is a friendly, non-toxic gas. Nitrogen composes 78% of the air that we breathe. The other components are 16% Oxygen, 1% Hydrogen and 5% other gases. Nitrogen is as common and safe as Oxygen.

IS CRYOTHERAPY COMFORTABLE?

Yes.  Cryotherapy involves dry, hyper-cooled air flowing over the skin surface, so the process never freezes skin tissues, muscles or organs. The result is only a “feeling” of being cold. The body is being tricked into believing that this extreme cold is life threatening. Cryotherapy is a dry cold with no moisture and tolerable even to those who consider themselves cold intolerant.

WHAT IF I AM OFTEN COLD OR GET COLD EASILY?

Since the cold from Cryotherapy only penetrates the surface of the skin, you will experience a chill to the outer surface of your body. Your vital organs, muscles and tissues will all remain at their normal body temperature. Cryotherapy improves circulation throughout the body and stimulates production of brown fat, so your future ability to tolerate cold should improve.

HOW DO I FEEL AFTER A SESSION?

Cryotherapy stimulates the body to release endorphins, the hormones that make us feel alert and energetic. The energised effects from each session typically last six to eight hours post treatment. The more treatments you do in close succession, the longer the endorphin high lasts. Many clients also report improvements in their sleep quality after Cryotherapy. Muscle aches and stiff joints also feel a sense of relief.

CAN I CATCH A COLD FROM WHOLE BODY CRYOTHERAPY?

No. The immediate cold impact of the cryotherapy will raise the internal body temperature for a short period of time.  The stimulation of the immune system can help decrease the severity and frequency of future colds.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED TO ACHIEVE OPTIMAL RESULTS?

To get the best possible results we recommend a course of 6-15 sessions depending on the person with 2-4 days between each session which take can take between 30 mins and 1 1/2 hours each time. After this initial loading period, maintenance treatments should be either once per week/two weeks or once per month.

WHO SHOULD USE CRYOTHERAPY?

Cryotherapy is ideal for athletes seeking muscle recovery, people with chronic pain and inflammatory conditions, and those seeking weight loss and skin rejuvenation. Cryotherapy is used post-surgically to accelerate the healing process and reduce pain without the side effects of pain medications and anti-inflammatory drugs. Younger clients under the age of 18, can use Cryotherapy with parent’s consent.

IS EXERCISE RECOMMENDED AFTER THE CRYOTHERAPY SESSION?

Yes, an advantage of cryotherapy is that tissues and muscle are not frozen. Ten minutes of light exercise post cryotherapy will induce more rapid vasodilation of the blood vessels and capillaries and extend the period of analgesia. It is also ideal post-workout to speed athletic recovery and ease sore muscles.

CRYO BODY - DOES IT REALLY WORK?

Our Cryo BodySculpt is the most effective form of fat reduction treatment currently available on today's market. For each body area, should you choose the stomach area for example, we cover a much larger area than most treatments you may be aware of like Fat Freezing. We would cover the area from under your rib cage to your waisteband on your trousers starting on one side from your side to your belly button and follow up with doing your other side after. As we cover a larger area than most treatments the overall results are much better. Most other treatmets use a suction plate or a metal paddle like device to freeze the fat, they only freeze the areas they are in direct contact with, which is about 3 x 4 inches in size.

WHAT MAKES YOUR TREATMENT DIFFERENT THAN OTHER SIMILAR TREATMENTS?

We use liquid nitrogen vapours which are blown directly on to your skin from a distance of 5-10cm away from the target area. We do 6-12 minutes on each area, depending on the area size and this is the same for both the left and right hand side of your body. After the first side is done we provide a lymphatic drainage massage of approximately 5minutes on each side of an area to help with the drainage of broken down fat cells through the lymphatic drainage system. This massage is key to our treatment and the great results that can be achieved. This also helps to warm the area up again and help with the blood circulation in your chosen area again. Blood flow to this area will increase sending extra oxygen, nutrients and hormones to this area as your body is not used to this degree of cold its trying to protect it. This starts a rejuvenation process and benefits include skin tightening, stretch mark reduction, pain relief, skin rejuvenation, endorphine release & more.

CRYO BODY - ARE THE RESULTS PERMANENT?

Results are permanant after a course as much as they can be. If you can imagine if you were to eat healthy and go to the gym regularly and get into a reasonable shape after 12 weeks but then start eating fast food and junk, stop training, you would effectively put on weight and the results you gained slowly disappear. For this reason, results last depending on your lifestyle, we would advise a healthy diet and exersice which can also accellerate the results, though this is not necessary. Once you have had a treatment, we measure you before and after and document the inches you have lost, it is up to you to maintain that.

CRYO BODY - WHAT DO YOU CLASS AS AN AREA AND WHAT BODY PARTS CAN YOU HAVE DONE?

Each area is different. At  consultation you would be assessed and we would recommend which areas we feel you may see the most benefit, we would of course provide a treatment on your direction. We would then section off your body into areas and you would have a treatment on that area depending on the size.

  • Upper arms & shoulder

  • Upper back

  • Lower back

  • Front chest Area

  • Stomach area (from under ribcage to your waistband, from your belly button down to your sides)

  • Muffin Top (from your belly button to the top of your pelvic bone down to your sides)

  • Bottom area

  • Thighs (Front or back/both)

  • Lower legs area (Calfs & Shin)

Some areas may slightly overlap, but this should serve as a rough guide to how we section off an area.

CRYO BODY - WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT CONSIST OF?

In our first session we would require you to fill out a consultation and consent form this would be followed by a verbal consultation provided by our trained therapist. Once we have done this we would take a before picture of your chosen area and take measurements, which are documentated. You would then be required to remove any clothing on the area you have chosen and lie down on our treatment bed, the therapist would then cover all other areas with fresh towels and a blanket. Once this has been done the cryotherapy treatment would commence between 65% and 85% power at a temperature of around -130 to -140'C for 6-12 minutes depending on the size of the area chosen. A lymphatic drainage massage would then be provided on this area for around 5 minutes. This process would then be repeated on the other half of your body (Right side then left or vice versa). After the cryotherapy treatment has finished an after picture and measurements would be taken of the treated area to show results. If being treated as a course a consultation is not necessary for every session and pictures and measurements will only be taken at the start and finish of that course.

WHAT AFTERCARE IS ADVISED AFTER A CRYOTHERAPY SESSION?

CRYO BODY - We recommend drinking at least 5 litres of water following a Body Sculpt treatment to increase the Lymphatic System for flushing out toxins. Exercising straight after a Cryotherapy Body session will help boost the calorie burn. Dry Brushing will also support give your skin a thorough exfoliation while the pressure will help to stimulate your circulation and lymphatic drainage, which in turn will continue to support the body in eliminating toxins, great for further cellulite reduction!

CRYO FACIAL - We recommend drinking at least 3 litres of water to continually hydrate your skin. Maintaining a good skincare routine suitable to your skin type will prolong the benefits of a Cryotherapy Facial. No downtime occurs and therefore clients can apply make-up straight afterwards if required.
